	New York State Receives Area Development Magazine’s 2010 Gold Shovel Award The state of New York is awarded the 2010 Gold Shovel in recognition of projects undertaken in 2009 creating a significant number of high value-added new jobs as well as investment. Additionally, GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ new semiconductor/nanotech facility located in Malta, Saratoga County — which represents a $4.2 billion investment and is expected to create some 1,400 jobs — is recognized as a Project of the Year.
