Small Business Assistance

SEDC's Small Business Assistance services includes many programs for small businesses in Saratoga County. SEDC uses an approach that provides solutions to many of the requirements that advance a company's growth from the start-up stage forward.

The services SEDC can provide to a small business are:

Analysis of Entrepreneurial Opportunities.
Development of business plans, marketing plans, and strategic plans.
Identification, design and placement of the required debt/equity capital, based on the firm's business plan, utilizing and integrating diverse sources of public and private sector financing programs and capital pools.
Assisting entrepreneurs in developing appropriate Harvesting/Exit strategies that facilitate the appropriate succession of the small business.

SEDC works with other entities to bring small business to Saratoga County. SEDC's continued relationship with the Small Business Administration and New York Business Development Corporation provides 504 Program financing to small businesses. This program can provide financing for up to 90 percent of fixed assets. SEDC works with the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). The IDA process in Saratoga County continues to be a powerful tool allowing for eligible companies to receive significant economic development incentives to create quality jobs in Saratoga County. Revolving Loan Funds are also used to assist small businesses prosper in Saratoga County.
